THE WHEELS OF FIRE - The Wind Cries Mary (1969)

    THE WHEELS   OF FIRE  were founded by former members of various Zagreb groups Rajmond Ruić (Delfini, Roboti, The Five Up - bass), Viktor Hromin (Roboti, The Five Up - drums) and Vedran Božić (Kondori, Roboti, Zlatni akordi - guitar, vocal) in 1969. This is their cover of Hendrix song "The Wind Cries Mary" recorded live in 1969.

VLADO BENUSSI & I CANNIBALI - Un filo di vita (1968)

     VLADO BENUSSI  was the guitarist and vocal of the rock band  I CANNIBALI  from Rovinj (Croatia). The band was active from 1964 to 1969. This song was recorded by Vlado Benussi in 1968 for the Italian market.

O'HARA - O'Hara (1965-1967)

        O'HA RA  was a vocal and instrumental band from Zagreb, Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia), which has worked since 1965 to 1967. Most of the band members formed the guys from a Technical School in Zagreb. The band was established in 1965 by Edvin Haramina (drums), Miljenko Ljubić (bass), Rajko Boltižar (lead guitar), Frano Parać (keyboards) and singer Marcela Munger. O'Hara began performing at the dance club in the local community. In 1967 band left Rajko Boltižar, briefly replaced by Goran Ivas, then Krešimir Ivić. After that band left singer Marcela Munger, and in its place hops Josipa Lisac. It is the golden age of band O'Hara. After that band O'Hara falls apart and Frane Parać and Josipa Lisac goes to the "Zlatni akordi". (from wikipedia)    

DIEGO VARAGIĆ - Lutke (1965) EP

          DIEGO   VARAGIĆ  is one of the most popular Yugoslav singers from the 1960s. He was born on the 12th of May, 1942 in Čajniče, Bosnia & Herzegovina. As a child he moved to Serbia, where he began his artistic career at the age of 12 in a choir (KUD "Železničar"). In 1961 he took part in the famous Radio Beograd show "Mikrofon je vaš". He studied English literature in Beograd and after a rather short singing career continued working in his main profession as teacher and journalist in Beograd. He has lived and worked in Italy since 1991. This is his most succesful EP from 1965.

        ONI  were rock  band  from Beograd (Serbia) in former Yugoslavia. They recorded only one song (cover of Beatles song "I Need You") in 1967.

ŽETEOCI - To nije tajna (1969)

        ŽETE OCI  was founded in Zagreb, Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia) in 1965 by students of Catholic university: Mijo Gabrić (drums, vocal), Mijo Bergovec (keyboards, vocal), Mato Dukić (vocal, bass guitar) and Valent Bogadi (guitar, vocal). In 1969 they recorded LP "To nije tajna", one of the first Lp's in ex-Yugoslavia. Album produced by Pero Gotovac. They split up in 1971.

MAGNETI - Magneti (1963-1964)

    MAG NETI  was founded in 1962 in Šibenik (Croatia). They were the first classical rock band in Dalmatia. The band was established by Siniša Škarica and Berislav Baranović. They were influenced by the British instrumental group The Shadows and Vaughn Monroe. They disbanded in 1965, and shortly after, Škarica and Baranović joined the band MI, which was formed from members of the groups Magneti and Mjesečari. These are their two instrumental songs from 1963-1964.

SEKA KOJADINOVIĆ - Niko te neće zavoleti (1968) EP

CRNI BISERI - Sve najbolje (1967-1969)

        CRNI   BISERI  was formed in Beograd, Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia) in 1963. They took the name from famous Yugoslav 50s movie about young deliquents. In 60s they played beat/60s punk/rhythm & blues. They were winners of the festival "Gitarijada 1967". They also appeared in movies: "Kad budem mrtav i beo" and "Višnja na Tašmajdanu". They recorded many songs that were used for radio and TV only - some are really great 60s punk killers. They also toured Malta, Morocco, Tunisia... They split up in 1980.

DOGOVOR IZ 1804. - Krug (1968-1969)

  DOGOVOR   IZ 1804  were an progressive  rock group  from Beograd, Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia). In late sixties group founded by Nebojša Ignjatović (vocal, guitar). Robert Nemeček (bass, flute, vocal), Saša Forenbaher (table), Predrag Simić (sitar), Dejan Vasiljević (vocal, flute), Aleksandar Stojić (vocal), and Stevan Milutinović (drums). They recorded only four songs and they split up in early 70s.

BEZIMENI (Zagreb) - Crossfire (1962-1964)

    BEZI MENI  started in Zagreb, Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia) in 1961. Band founded by Janko Mlinarić Truli (bass and vocal) with Slaven Rački (guitar), Željko Margetić Marga (guitar), Petko Kantardžijev Mlinac (keyboards), Mahmut Ismailovski (saxophones) and Radovan Krajnović Braco (drums and vocal). They split in 1964.

DETLIĆI - Moon Shot (1962-1965)

        DET LIĆI  were the first electric rock band from Novi Sad, Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia). In 1964 they recorded a few songs for Radio Novi Sad. They formed by brothers Bahun (Perica-guitar, Toma-bass), with his friends Ivan Ramać (rhythm guitar) and Deže Majoroš (drums). They split in 1965.

        NADA   KNEŽEVIĆ  is an great singer of pop music and jazz from Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia). She has performed at the prestigious Newport Jazz Festival. It once was the only European woman mentioned in the Encyclopedia of World Jazz. This is her fourth EP from 1967.
