      ELI PSE  started in 1963 in Beograd, Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia). In the beginning they played covers of The Shadows and became very popular in the mid 60's. After Edi Dekeng joined the band as singer in 1967, they changed music orientation to r'n'b/soul. The group was disbanded by the end of 1968. Members were Momčilo Radovanović, Bojan Hreljac, Vladimir Furduj, Zoran Simjanović, Edi Dekeng, Nikola Zembić and Dragan Kuprijanov. (from discogs.com)

      IVICA   PERCL  was the first protest singer-songwriter in ex-Yugoslavia. He was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1945 and died in 2007. He started as a guitarist of the legendary Zagreb's rock group "Roboti" and then began a solo career. He recorded several EP's and one LP and his greatest succes has been song "Stari Pjer".       MLADI   LEVI  was formed on november 1966, in Ljubljana, Slovenia (ex-Yugoslavia). At the end of 1967 starting to play soul and rhythm & blues at the same time as Elipse from Beograd. They released a total of 3 singles and one EP and they split up in 1975.

      DAL TONI  was a Serbian and former Yugoslav rock band, notable for being one of the pioneers of the former Yugoslav rock scene. The band was formed in Niš in August, 1963 by Branislav Cvetković (who at first took up guitar but soon switched to bass guitar) Žarko Stanković (guitar), Rista Trajković (rhythm guitar) and Nebojša Stojanović (drums). At first the band mostly performed cover versions of Hank Marvin and The Shadows instrumentals, but for their first public appearance, at the Gimnazijada festival in Skopje the band was joined by vocalist Miodrag Rašić. The band had their first public appearances in Niš in 1965, at the cult club Index, where vocal duties were given to Dušan Mitrović and Miša "Šolja" Tašić, and Mihajlo "Mika" Paligrdić was temporarily the band's drummer. The band was soon joined by keyboardist Miodrag "Miško" Stojanović. In 1966 Rašić officially left the band, and was replaced by Goce Nikolovski from the rival group Rubinsi

SAMONIKLI - Samonikli (1963-1969)

      SAMO NIKLI  was formed in 1963, in Beograd, Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia) by four high school students. The band was named after a book of short stories by Slovenian writer Prežihov Voranc. Group members changed frequently in that early period, but by 1964 they stabilized in the following lineup: Marin Pečjak (vocals), Milan Pavlov (guitar), Marko Novaković (bass guitar), Bojan Drndić (rhythm guitar) and Vukašin Veljković (drums). Initially the band performed at school proms and college dance parties. The band covered rock hits, as well as traditional songs and 1930s and 1940s schlagers, while their own songs were mostly The Shadows-inspired instrumentals. In 1965 and 1966 they played regularly at dances at the Beograd University School of Technology and soon became widely popular. In 1966 they won first place at a country-wide Youth Festival of rock bands, which entitled them to represent their country at an international festival of youth orchestras in Hungary, which featured the best
