YU ROCK FROM SIXTIES

     DEL FINI  second EP from 1967.

     When it comes to 60's, there was thousands of rock'n'roll and garage bands all over Yugoslavia. However, only a very few bands made any records. This is the story of a band which recorded perhaps the most exciting garage rock EP in the 60's. Their name is  DEL FINI  and they come from Zagreb. Several students with a professional singer Zdenko Juran formed Delfini in 1963. They played together for several years until record label Jugoton cut them a deal and published their first EP record. Their energy and creativity especially unleashed in an explosive James Brown cover "I'll Go Crasy". However, the real highlight is an addictive blues version of the Macedonian folk song "Kaleš bre Anđo" , with an amazing keyboard solo by Petko Kantardžijev. Nikola Sarapa also delivered a fine guitar work. Much later in his career, Sarapa had an excellent hard rock band called Stop mostly based on Jimmy Hendrix covers.     DEL FINI   started in 1963 in Zagreb, Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia).They recorded their first EP, with great cover of "Gloria", after playing on festival "Zagreb 66". Also on 7"EP "Zagreb 66" there is one song where they play with singer Zvonko Špišić. On their 2nd 7" is already famous 60s punk killer "Bebel". His music is raw rhythm'n'blues garage punk.       PERICA   STOJANČIĆ  was one of the first rock and roll singer in the former Yugoslavia. He was very popular in mid-sixties, especially in Serbia. This is his first EP from 1963.

     MIŠO   KOVAČ  second EP from 1967.

    MIŠO   KOVAČ  is a Croatian singer of pop music from Zagreb. He is the biggest selling artist from the former Yugoslavia, with well over 20 million records, cassettes and compact discs sold to date. This is his fourth EP from 1968.

  SJENE  were one of the  first rock  and roll band in Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia). They formed in Zagreb, in 1961, under directly influence by the british band The Shadows. They recorded only a few songs.

    MIKI   JEVREMOVIĆ  is Serbian pop singer from Beograd, most popular in 70s and 80s. This is his fifth EP from 1964., recorded with the band  Zlatni dečaci .

    SREBRNE    PRUGE  founded in 1962, in Dubrovnik, Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia). They recorded several songs for Radio Dubrovnik between 1965 and 1966. They split up in 1966.

    ELEK TRONI  founded in 1961, in Karlovac, Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia) by Jurica Grosinger (lead guitar and singer). This EP they recorded in 1968 for Record Company "Jugoton". Other members of the band were Vatroslav Slavnić (bass guitar and songwriter), Boris Borošić (rhythm guitar) and Mario Janjac (drums).

    ELEK TRONI    founded in 1961, in Karlovac, Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia) by Jurica Grosinger (lead guitar and singer). These are their two songs recorded for Radio Karlovac.
